"Coaching has been hugely beneficial to the way I view myself professionally. Prior to going through my menopause I felt confident, capable, embraced challenges and had clear career direction. I sought coaching because I had a negative interview experience, which had a detrimental impact on my professional self confidence and self belief. I was confused and felt like I was surrounded by fog. I was suddenly unsure of the direction of my career, which I had previously felt certain about and focused upon. Florian focused the sessions around the main areas of support, I had initially indicated. He really listened to me and asked questions which challenged my way of thinking and led me to view my experiences from an alternative perspective. Florian coached me on preparing for an interview, he broke it down to mental, physical and practical preparedness. He ran through the possible themes of interview questions and suggested simple formats of how to answer them. Since that session, I have had two positive interview experiences. Coaching with Florian helped me to regain my self confidence in interview settings. I felt fully prepared, calm and confident, I was able to think with clarity and structure my answers in a cohesive and succinct style. Florian set homework after many of the sessions, the homework seemed to stem from a thread he picked up on during the session and would form the basis of the following session. Florian suggested I kept a notebook, where I noted down how I felt at the end of each day and to write my notes in pencil, as the sound and feel of the pencil on paper can be therapeutic. This is something I am still doing and it has helped me to acknowledge my feelings, both positive and negative and has encouraged me to reflect on the situations which have evoked the emotions. Writing down my feelings is an outlet and helps me to sleep better, I now wake up less frequently thinking about work. Most recently Florian asked me to write down my top five strengths, two weakness's and what my ideal job role entails. This was really useful to me, as it reinforced where my interests lie and where I see myself in the future. It will help me focus when searching for future roles and opportunities."
